About Us

The Tallahassee Chapter of Drifter's, Inc. was installed on March 27, 1976. Initial membership included nineteen (19) charter members. The first officers and members included *Drifters Rebecca Steele (President), Ada Puryear (Vice President), *Marian Temple (Recording Secretary), *Marie Scales (Financial Secretary), *Wilnette O’Rouke (Treasurer), Lottie Muldrow (Historian), Vertia Rollins (Parliamentarian), *Thelma Gorham (Reporter), Barbara Anders (St. Petersburg), Wilhelmina Dumas, *Jackie Hartley, *Peggy Jefferson, *Margaret Lewis, *Nancy Martin, *Yolande Mason, Deloris Mitchell (Jacksonville), *Jacqueline Thomas, *Joyce Oates, *C. Bette Wimbush, and Ruth Williams (Founder). Norfolk, Virginia was the founding chapter. *Deceased
